Cutie.BPoC Festival Berlin

from 22nd to 25th of July 2016, Berlin

We want to create a space where you can all meet one another and adress issues that affect us and our communities – migration, state violence, racism, surveillance, lack of spaces/resources – and to build stronger networks across countries within europe (and outside of it, possibilities and resources permit.)

We will be offering workshops, screenings, performances, discussions, parties, food and spaces to just hang out. Events/talks/workshops will be organized around topics including but not limited to sexwork, queer and aging, the prison industrial complex, bdsm, hackathons, art and decolonial identity, non binary perspective of gender, music and migration.

East: bodies, borders and zonification

The European unification, as Philomena Essed argues, has been foremost a project of whiteness. In a time, when it is said that Eastern Europe no longer exists, when Western Europe is also named “former”, the process of disappearance of certain borders implies its simultaneous multiplication and conversion into zones, border regions or territories. East is today operating as one of them. How, then, the way we conceptualize Europe changes if we rethink the silenced colonial/imperial history of European migration politics through the West-East relation of repetition, together with the coloniality of gender, the control of subjectivity and knowledge, the most extreme forms of exclusion and politics of death today? What potentialities for resistance are coming out from such analysis?

In Bologna, together with our members and supporters, we will celebrate our achievements over these 10 years. At the same time we will look into the challenges ahead that we face together as one movement in Europe…
